Oaklands Farm

Oaklands Farm is located in the rolling hills of West Dorset and has been farmed at a low level of intensity for many years. When we arrived here several years ago we were faced with the task of rejuvenating the farm's hedges, boundaries and soil fertility after long term neglect by the previous owner. 

This is a sheep farm and we keep Lleyn sheep, a medium sized ewe that do well on a mainly grass and forage diet. They spend most of their time grazing outside but come inside during the worst of the winter to keep off the wet ground.  The sheep are carefully selected and bred to enhance the traits of the Lleyn breed. 

We welcome potential buyers to the farm to view the progeny that we have for sale each year and we also welcome anyone who would like to stay in our holiday cottage, more details can be found on this website.
